Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
-Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, transfer to Thimphu (approximately 1-hour drive).
– Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point): Visit the towering 51.5-meter statue offering panoramic views of Thimphu valley.
– Motithang Takin Preserve: Observe the Takin, Bhutan’s national animal, in a natural habitat.
– National Postal Museum: In Thimphu, explore the museum where you can create personalized stamps—a unique souvenir.
– Craft Bazaar: Stroll through stalls showcasing Bhutanese handicrafts, perfect for authentic shopping experiences
– Evening visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a significant landmark dedicated to world peace.
Day 2: Thimphu to Punakha
– Dochula Pass: En route to Punakha, stop at this pass adorned with 108 memorial chortens and enjoy panoramic Himalayan vistas.
– Chimi Lhakhang: Visit the ‘Temple of Fertility,’ renowned for its blessings and unique history.
– White water rafting on the Mo Chhu river flowing gently pass the Punakha Dzong
– Riverside Picnic Lunch
– Punakha Dzong: Explore this architectural masterpiece at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
– Punakha Suspension Bridge: Experience one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges, draped with prayer flags and offering stunning river views.
Day 3: Punakha to Phobjikha Valley
– Drive to the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, known for its natural beauty. •
– Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy a nature walk through the valley.
– Visit the Black Necked crane centre to learn more about the birds as well as see the two rescued cranes.
– Leisure walks and photography along a gentle trail hike.
Day 4: Phobjika to Thimphu
– Lunch at Dochula
– Evening visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a significant landmark dedicated to world peace.
– Visit local handicrafts and traditional costume shops for souvenirs and gifts
– Evening cultural performance showcasing traditional Bhutanese dance and music.
Day 5: Thimphu to Paro
– Kyichu Lhakhang: In Paro, visit one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, reflecting the introduction of Buddhism to the region.
– Visit the Paro Museum, (Ta Dzong)
– Paro Town Exploration: Leisure time to explore local markets and cafés. Try the national costumes, enjoy the Rinpung Dzong view.
Day 6: Paro – Taktsang Monastery Hike
– Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest): Embark on a hike to this iconic monastery perched on a cliffside, offering breathtaking views and spiritual insights.
– Relax with a hot stone bath.
Day 7: Departure
