Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
-Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, transfer to Thimphu (approximately 1-hour drive).
– Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point): Visit the towering 51.5-meter statue offering panoramic views of Thimphu valley.
– Motithang Takin Preserve: Observe the Takin, Bhutan’s national animal, in a natural habitat.
– National Postal Museum: In Thimphu, explore the museum where you can create personalized stamps—a unique souvenir.
– Craft Bazaar: Stroll through stalls showcasing Bhutanese handicrafts, perfect for authentic shopping experiences
– Evening visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a significant landmark dedicated to world peace.
Day 2: Thimphu Tshechu Festival (Day 1)
• Full-day at the festival grounds at TashichhoDzong
Day 3: Thimphu Exploration + Festival (Day 2)
• Explore Thimphu’s cultural landmarks
• Optional traditional dinner with cultural show
Day 4: Thimphu to Paro
• Visit Kyichu Lhakhang and Paro Dzong
• Preparation for Taktsang hike
• Overnight in Paro
Day 5: Hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest)
• Early morning hike to the cliffside monastery
